For someone just getting into CPA marketing, the variety of different offer types can be confusing. To understand what offers are best, you have to try and figure this out which can be quite a daunting task.
The most well known CPA offers are the zip-submit, trial offers and email submits. Saj P’s Zero Friction Marketing CPA product discusses these offers in greater detail.
To start with, I will talk about CPA free-trial offers which are currently the most popular amongst advertisers and marketers. The reason is simple. For the customer, the free trial offers are free to the degree that they will only have to pay a small fee for all shipping and handling costs. The advertiser then has a qualified lead, and the consumer gets what they want for a very low price.
As a marketer, you might be wondering how this benefits you. With this “free offer”, companies will in turn pay you, the affiliate, anywhere from $20-$100 for each qualifies lead that chooses to order the free CPA offer. The consumer will then be asked to accept the forced continuity conditions to obtain the free offer. By accepting the free trial offer, the customer is agreeing to pay for more of the product when the free trial is up, often through a monthly auto-ship program.
It is the advertisers job to continue the relationship with the customer and it is only your job to supply them. The offer is easy to convert, and you get paid a good amount for little work. All you have to do is drive targeted traffic to the companies landing page. For this reason, it is easy to see why CPA free trial offers are extremely popular.
Zip code submits are also another common type of CPA offers. The advertiser paid you when you generate a lead for them via someone entering their ZIP code. The advertiser will make money from this prospect somehow via their backend and follow up system. You only get paid when someone enters their ZIP code to the CPA offer. ZIP code offers have a very high conversion rate due to the easy to fill out field required, but they generally only pay a small amount. ZIP code submits may only be paid out as 75 cents to $1, but if you can drive a lot of targeted traffic to them, they can result on a lot of money.
Email submits is another similar type of offer. Advertisers will pay anywhere from 75 cents to $2.00 for a simple email address that they can then follow up their marketing with, as it is important to have a list of pre-qualified buyers. You provide the advertiser this list. You get paid a commission when the user enters their email address. These CPA offers also convert very well and it’s just a matter of traffic you need to send.
