You have likely been on a webinar, web meeting, online training, whatever the word is they use to explain it. Webinars are great hit in the IM world right now, but they’ve actually been utilized in all sorts of niches pulling in big bucks for a considerable time.
I have dOne a few of them now, where the webinar itself truly was nothing apart from education ( no selling ) and then others where it’s a mixture of education and something to sell. Here is how you can literally make large mOney using Webinars.
What’s A Webinar
Solely to put everyOne on a level playing field, let’s chat about what a basic webinar is. Most webinars I’ve seen ( where it’s LIVE, not talking about these recorded Ones ) are all run through GotoWebinar. They can host up to One thousand people on a webinar.
Several other firms exist offering equivalent services, but GotoWebinar appears to be One of the most well liked.
Attendees are typically invited thru an e-mail invitation sent out by the host or promoters of the webinar. You sign up, and will get reminders along with a link to join the webinar during the agreed time.
Most webinars are Voice over IP, meaning you’ll hear the host ( s ) talking thru your personal computer speakers, and you won’t have the facility to talk. You will be in a position to communicate to the hosts and raise questions to the host thru a ‘question’ panel in the gotowebinar application. Now GotoWebinar does permit you to speak in your mike but most webinars are not setup that way as there are too many people to have everybody speaking.
The host will share their screen which will probably be a slide show, or sometimes doing live demonstrations from their screen, but it is not likely any video ( of the hosts ) is concerned, just screen sharing.
Attendees get the chance to ask questions through if the hosts are going to be taking questions, or more often they will leave a QA session close to the end to answer any questions.
How To earn income With Webinars
Webinars are a great selling platform, because you have the attendees’ attention and ability to connect with them as they have shown interest. Most successful webinars that I have participated in involve teaching the visitors on a particular topic.
Don’t kid yourself though, it’s all selling, education too. Dedicated planning goes into the slides, creating open loops and selling while teaching at the same time.
You will find most people will arrange something special for the webinar guests to buy at the end, it might be a special ‘bonus’ to the 1st X amount of folks or a discounted price too. But whatever the additional benefit is, it’s available only to those on the webinar and when the webinar is over, if you opt to not take the hosts up on their offer, you will not have accessibility to it again.
It’s a bit like free coaching ; it does depend on who is putting the webinar on. I have been on lots where they give nothing re value , or education. I like to go with supplying value, so whoever attended, if they chose not to buy they continue to came out with some kind of further data they can use beyond what the ‘offer’ was about.
I have heard of folks selling $100,000 of webinars, now that will be friggin dazzling, but I haven’t reached such a level (yet).
Joint Venture Webinars
I have dOne approximately seven or so webinars for Local Video Method over the past 8 months, which were solely presenting information, doing some QA, and I did not have a single thing to supply apropos ’selling’, just straight up info.
As part of the launch for Local Video Strategy v2.0 I would have liked to reach out to some new audiences. So what I did is put some time and effort into preparing a good webinar that educates and sells at the same time. This webinar is about offline consulting, getting clients, promoting yourself etc, and also talks about the particular process of video reviews as a lead gen, which is what LVM is.
Now folk who want to try it themselves, CAN, but if they would like to learn the way to do it the quicker way, they can purchase. So that the webinar provides superb value and info, and an offer at the same time.
Now you can go round to folk who have lists of what you would consider potential buyers. So for me, I am going to try and reach out ( through Skype, email, VIDEO ) and speak to individuals that are also in the same niche ( offline consulting ).
I have now got a prepared webinar, they just have to market the webinar. We’ll do it together ( I am doing almost all of the chatting ) and then any sales from that webinar are split sometimes 50 / fifty ( collaboration ).
This has worked fantastically well, I’ve dOne 2 JV’s for LVM 2.0 in the last month or so totaling just over $17,000 and I have more to come! That is not a lot compared to some other big names, but it is a great start and the numbers are major. 1 webinar changing at thirty percent with a revenues per click of over $12.00!
So I’ll approach folks now with numbers, a total ‘package’ and all they should do is promote it and cash in. They get to provide a high quality product ( if I do say so myself ) which makes them look great for the advice, they have some mOney in their pocket as do I, and I now have some new clients.
They are a fantastic way to quickly create a list and to get mOney and build relationships as they bring a torrent of traffic very fast. I have something useful to offer and the JV partner has the list!
Webinar Leverage
Most of the time webinars will be recorded and used later down the road which is a great leverage methodology for the webinar itself. You can send out replays to your list to help drive more sales ( for the Ones that could not make it, forgot, or never got the invite ). You can also use the video and cut it up, permitting you to form several videos from One.
I could upload those to Youtube and optimize those for some keywords I would like to target, driving traffic back to my sale page. I have personally used it as part of the premium content in the Local Video Strategy membership as a price add. AnyOne who purchases Local Video Method has got access to the webinar library.
I’ve also created a 6 part video series in my autoresponder, that’s spread evenly over 2 weeks and provides free training to those on my list whom have not acquired Local Video System. It gives them a taste of what the full package is all about.
You can easily schedule several webinars in a week. Which will take some coordination but it is more than possible , each webinar really takes about Two or so hours to deliver and some admin work on the side to set it up, promote it, but it is hardly a full day’s work.
I am sure there are lots of more methods to leverage them, but this is how I’ve leveraged my webinar recordings.
Webinar Tips
These are some tips for you if you are deciding to run a webinar.
1. Schedule it out about 1 week out, with all of the timezOnes, weekends etc . Give folks the opportunity to read your invite and sign up.
Two. Schedule a twenty-four hour reminder and a Two hour reminder email to go out ( I use AWeber )
Three. Close any programs that may pop-up or interfere with your screen, you’re going to be sharing it with tons of folks! : )
Four. If you are going to show your browser, please clear your history to avoid anything embarrassing appearing in your recording and to your visitors.
5. Test everything fifteen minutes before hand, then sit and wait. You’d be surprised at the tiny things that’ll cock up right before you are suspect to start.
6. Start on-time, respect the time of those who showed up on time!
7. Record each webinar, you can always get rid of it after, but if you don’t record it and need it, you will be out of luck. You can use Camtasia or Screenflow to record the webinar ( including audio / video ).
8. Try and keep the background noise as low as possible ; interruptions can make it more ‘human’ but low.
Nine. You may say this doesn’t need to be said, but whatever you do, don’t say anything bad or prejudiced about the visitors or any person or anything while on the webinar, even if you think you have hit mute or it isn’t on. The only real way to be certain it is not on is Goto Webinar is closed! Many people have been burned by thinking it’s off-air mean while they are voice continues to be heard by all the guests.
Ten. I like to have nice shows that are just me, some pictures and so on keep what is a semi-boring event ( no video etc ) a touch more interested and engaging.
Eleven. Like most displays, keep your list of bullet points on your slides to a minimum ( per slide ).
12. You will not be given a listing of emails of guests to simply use. I strongly recommend implementing some tool ( such as this One ) to sign people up to your e-mail list AND the webinar. When you are on the webinar, and you guarantee to send people something, if you do not have them on a list, that may be very complicated or even impossible. There is not any fast method to get your webinar attendee emails to your auto-responder afterwards.
13. When talking, speak slowly, and alter your tOne, again helps keep it from sounding boring
Fourteen. Plug your registration page as much as practical and those who want to do JV’s, you can set up an affiliate link for an affiliate to land on the registration page. That way any traffic they send to their affiliate link will go to the webinar registration page and track the purchase to them! Gives them a great inducement to pimp your webinar!
Fifteen. Do not forget that you are selling, so remember to show value , create open loops, close them, keep them lured and when you are prepared don’t be scared to make the pitch. Some individuals say talk about the pitch early, others say wait until later, that will depend on your audience ( from my experience ). Ask your JV partner how their list has been groomed with previous webinars.
Sixteen. Don’t panic if you didn’t remember to hit record in the midset of starting your webinar. Send out an email to those that attended and I bet you someOne recorded it for themselves and would be happy to offer you a copy. ( can you tell that happened to me? )
seventeen. If you find this list helpful, please hit the like button and share it on facebook for anybody else engaging in running their own webinars!
That should give you an excellent start. The first One is always a little nerve racking, but just get it over with and move onto the subsequent One, they only improve every time you do them, and you will not even worry from this point.
Don’t worry about the questions that come through QA, you do not have to answer everyOne’s question, it’s down to you what you make a response to ( questions are only visible to the admins ).
So if you have an offer, put together a great webinar and go find people who’ve got the consumers you would like to be in front of and propose something. A mentor of mine once told me ( when I was basically making excuses about not approaching somebody ) “if you do not ask, the answer’s already no”. So get out there! I am actively working on this myself, it’s about relationships, asking for some help, chatting to people etc . But you can make a lot of cash doing JV webinars and getting to a wider audience, not to mention just doing your own webinars to your own list if you have One.
Cheerful Educating!
